What Is Your Assignment?

You may not know this about me, but I love asking questions! (Side note: If you know of any lucrative businesses that use this skill let me know. 😂)

There is a question I’ve been thinking about for a few weeks and I want to ask you. 

What Is Your Assignment?

I’ll give you some context to where the question came from. 

I was reading my Bible recently and came across this verse in Haggai chapter 1. 

Haggai 1:4 (NLT) “Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins?

In this passage God is speaking through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel, Governor of Judah, and he poses this question.

Why?

Because Zerubbabel had started building the temple of the Lord but stopped due to resistance from some adversaries. (See Ezra 3-5)

And through the prophet, God decided to remind Zerubbabel that, because of his own comfort, he was neglecting to do the exact thing God had told him to do.

Can you relate?

As I read Haggai I saw that scripture this way: “How long will you focus on yourself and what you have and neglect the assignment that I have given you?” 

If you’ve never heard this, let me be the one to share with you today. 

God has given you an assignment!

He has a plan for you. 

And my question for you to ponder today is this:

How long will you continue to not prioritize the assignment of God in your life? 

If you don’t know your assignment, just ask Him.

God is faithful. 

He will answer your prayer.
